Wildlife and

Birdwatching

Our resort is a haven for bird lovers. The rare Green Tinkerbird was recently discovered in the area, and you may also spot species such as the collared palm thrush, malachite kingfisher, fish eagle, and paradise flycatcher. For more on our birdlife, visit our dedicated birdwatching page.

Marine life here is equally spectacular. From leatherback turtles and dugongs to the humpback whales that pass by between June and November, nature is always close at hand.

Adventure on

the Water

The Morrungulo coastline is perfect for both adventure and leisure. Go diving or snorkeling at nearby Sylvia Shoal Reef, surf fish at dawn, or paddle through calm waters by kayak. At low tide, children can explore shallow rock pools, while at high tide the waves are perfect for bodyboarding and longboarding. We also offer kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and bodyboards for hire.

Weather and Climate

Mozambique enjoys warm, sunny weather year-round. The summer months (November–March) are hotter and bring occasional rain, while the winter months (May–July) are pleasantly warm during the day and cooler in the evenings. Sea temperatures range from 22°C in winter to 29°C in summer.

*Please note: as with the entire Mozambican coastline, there is a risk of malaria, so precautions are recommended.
