To help you prepare for your stay at Morrungulo Beach Resort, we’ve gathered some important details about our facilities, local services, and travel requirements. Please take a few moments to read through this information so you know what to expect and can make the most of your beachfront holiday with us.

Payments: Rands, US Dollars (2013 onwards, clean condition), and Meticais accepted.

Always travel with cash, ATMs can have long queues.

Upon check-in, passport registration is required by Mozambican law.
Travel & Vehicles

No 4x4 required to reach us.
-
Driving on the beach is illegal (fine: 20,000 MTS) except for boat launching.

Do not park under coconut trees, falling coconuts can damage vehicles.

Please launch boats only from the designated site (800m north).
-
Quad bikes and motorbikes are not allowed in camp.
Campsite & Facilities

Chalets and campsites are set directly on the beach.

Campsite power points are centrally located, bring a long extension cable.

No heating appliances permitted.
-
Plug types: mainly SA 3-pin round, with some 2-pin and square pin.

Power: 220V, generally full-time (occasional government cuts).

Our borehole water is safe to drink, no need to bring bottled water.
Connectivity

Good cell signal at the restaurant from Movitel & Vodacom.

Limited signal in camp.

WiFi vouchers available at reception.
Fishing & Activities

Gut fish out to sea where possible (not in bins).
-
No bottom fishing.
-
Boat/fishing licences available at reception or from maritime officials (required by law).

Jet skis are not permitted in front of camp (safe bathing area).
Food & Supplies

Seasonal restaurant and bar (pre-order essential, closed in quiet season).

Charcoal, firewood, and limited ice available at reception.

Fresh bread rolls (“pão”) available daily at local bakeries near the entrance.

Local hawkers sell fish, prawns, and crayfish on the beach, barter only off our property.

Massinga (20 km away) is the nearest town for supplies.

Basics, canned drinks available.
-
Bring refrigerated goods — not available locally.

Limited meat (mainly frozen chicken).
Services & Housekeeping

Domestic workers available (book at reception, pay reception directly).

Please don’t employ staff privately.
Environment & Safety

Please use water sparingly during peak season.

No hosepipes for washing vehicles/boats, use buckets.
-
Do not litter.
-
Fireworks strictly prohibited.
-
We discourage buying undersized crayfish and shells.
-
We are not liable for loss or damage.
What to Bring

Cancellation & Deposits
-
Deposit: Non-refundable 50% required within 5 days of booking to confirm reservation.

Balance: Due 60 days before arrival.
-
Cancellations: Deposit forfeited if cancelled before 60 days of arrival. No refunds for late arrival, early departure, or non-arrival.

Travel Insurance: Strongly recommended to cover unexpected events (weather, health, road conditions, etc.).

Damage Deposit: Cash required on arrival for accommodation units, refundable upon check-out and property inspection.
